Thought-provoking ideas, Noora. To your listing of the regions of the world dominated by "Western Imperialism", I would add one important colonized region: North America. In addition to its historical colonization, the masses of US citizens who consider themselves "free" and enjoying "democracy" are for the most part shackled into exploitative corporate jobs by personal debt and 30-year mortgages to homes they will spend as much on repairing. The debt, which they're trained since birth to accumulate by frequent TV commercials worshipping consumerism, instills a great fear of losing that job, so they bend their heads down and say nothing and don't ask questions but keep the engine running that causes so much havoc in the world.
So the missing ingredient from going from here to there is to
"Liberate America from America" TM

Mikhail Naimy in Saboun (vol. 1), written ~ 1950s, laments how America separated the people of his village from their loved ones (by immigration), and addressing Columbus, he admonishes:
"The blessings that you enabled people to reach soon became a nakba (catastrophe) in the lives of many of them. Certainly you brought a nakba to the original inhabitants of the land you discovered. Who knows, people may find you to be the most terrible nakba yet to the whole world - its old and its new."
