In a quiet Saturday afternoon chat, Dr. Foley and I discuss mental and societal health, the right to dissent, Palestinian liberation, the role of literature, and shedding mental colonization. The interview elicits my lived experience as a Palestinian growing up under Israeli “occupation”, and later in the diaspora writing about Palestine in a colonial tongue.
