Seeing the video of Mohammad Al-Durra shot while hiding in his father’s arms gave me the resolve to write a book about my experiences growing up under israeli occupation. Fugitive Dreams: Chronicles of occupation and resistance was published in Oct 2022. Between the time I had the manuscript ready (may 2021) and its one year anniversary (Oct 2023), Israel bombed Gaza three times, killing dozens of children. Israel also practiced daily raids into West Bank cities that killed hundreds of Palestinians.
