Thank you, Antoun. The publisher helped with the layout, but the photo is mine. I took it way back in 2013, and chose it because it is at a neglected part of the Wall β€” not the tourist street in Bethlehem with all the graffiti.

This is the Wall’s reality, ugly, suffocating, and there to isolate and oppress. It’s in Bir Nabala, a village near Ramallah that is now completely surrounded by Wall. The section in the photo blocks the road that connects the village to the main Ramallah β€” Jerusalem road. The rubber duckie just happened to be there, inviting the photo.
