Right on! Whatever redemptive promise Israel held, it forfeited it right at inception with the Nakba. This second Nakba exposes Zionism for what it is to the whole world. As I write in Fugitive Dreams:

"The Nakba left a deep void in the Israeli psyche. With that vacuous foundation, Israel is forever trapped in the mantle of vigilantly defending the alternate reality its founders have manufactured. Suppressing truth has become a compulsion. They campaign against books for fear people will read them. They establish nonprofits to embalm their falsified version of history. They infiltrate activist groups because they abhor the power ordinary people possess to challenge lies. They deck the city with “Jerusalem 3000” flags precisely because they know Jerusalem is not theirs. Try as they may to hide it, Israel’s European origin is evident in the melody they have adopted for its national anthem."
