Ray, I agree with you that we real people need to come together to solving the seemingly intractable problems of today. It is obvious that leaders are invested in resisting change, so any meaningful change has to come from us.

Today, this necessary human dialogue is taking place at the student encampments on college campuses, where Jewish and Palestinian American students are coming together. The police crackdowns are aimed at shutting down exactly those exchanges, while the media, mayors, and Biden libel the protesters with unfounded accusations to justify the crackdown. Meanwhile, Congress has just redefined anti-Semitism to include any legitimate criticism of Israel. The ADL screams about fears for the "safety of Jewish students" is precisely meant to scare those Jewish students from visiting the encampments and learning and making friends.

I invite you to visit one of those protest encampments and see for yourself what they're like and talk to the students. Free speech is an absolute requirement for dialogue. Protest and dissent should be encouraged.

I have visited one of those camps and write about it here:

People who support Palestine today support human rights for all. In fact, today's heroic students are putting their lives, safety, education, and future careers on the line to accomplish what dialogue alone cannot: Stop the genocide.
