I come from a Palestinian Christian background and for us the teachings of Jesus are paramount. God is Humility and Service and Love. You are right about the Pauline interpretation being co-opted by the Roman church. We must not forget the book burnings in the 4th century when the Roman emperor forced a church synod to clean up the Bible, and in the process purge the works of Jesus’ female disciples. Western Christianity is an empire-religion. The very empire that put Jesus to death for overturning the tables.
