HANGING ON

Tattered bark
Broken branch

Battered lives
Amputated hope

Ragged ends
Paper pierced

Fractured towers
Twisted steel

Tattered skin
Protruding bones

Ailing tree

Flowers

Still

Tattered bark hanging from broken branch (Photo by the author, 2024).

Dedicated to the children facing famine in Gaza.
