Great points. I read somewhere that the extent of her "plagiarism" was recycling material from her own dissertation in a few of her early papers without proper citation. Newsflash - everybody does that, especially if the papers are submitted while the dissertation was being written.
So obviously, it is a made up charge to get her out. Though I wouldn't deny the color factor, for which she got extra scrutiny, I think the real impetus behind those driving her out is pro-Israel groups pushing to silence Palestinian activists on college campuses. She was not the only university president ousted.
