Attachment to material possessions is the easiest to relinquish. What is more deadly is attachment to ideology. Today we have a genocide going on in Gaza. How do I detach myself from what is going in? Can I? Is that a moral thing to do when people are getting killed by my US tax dollars?
The three categories match the participants:
Palestinians have a longing desire for their freedom on their land.
The US has an attachment to Israel and its Zionist ideology (as well as its own empire) and doesn't want to give it up.
Israel has the endless greed of taking more land and building more settlements despite the fact that they have everything.
To long for human rights and that children and innocents be protected from violence - is that an attachment I should surrender?
