Antoun, I was going to reply that whoever wins the US elections, expect the genocide will move to the West Bank some time by November. And this morning I wake up to the news of a West Bank invasion. My reasoning is that Netanyahoo sees January 20 -US inauguration day — as a deadline of sorts. Israel in the last 20 years has always unfailingly exploited this transition period. The extension of the genocide will be gradual. We are seeing evictions and extended settler raids, and now bombings and invasions of towns in the northern West Bank. All they have to do is escalate, an ability at which they excel.

I have already lost faith in the entirety of the Democratic party. I don’t trust any of their promises. We’ve heard about that Palestinian State in the sky for 30 years. Besides, even if Harris/Biden impose a ceasefire tomorrow, the damage is done. It is their genocide. For them to switch just before the elections just emphasizes that they prolonged it deliberately until they could no longer get away with it without losing their seats. Accountability at the very lease requires them losing their seats.
